You Can't Sell A Dragon's Heart
When he learns his father is dying, Roan leaves the untamed wilds to return to the home he ran away from ten years prior. Roan knows the inevitable family reunion will be difficult, but then he meets Lyss, the beau who is the reason he had to leave. Roan doesn't know what to feel or how to react, but before he can get his emotions in order a letter comes from the wilds telling him the town he's called home for the last ten years is under attack.
Traveling with Lyss ought to give Roan time to figure out his feelings, however the army, wyverns, and dragons all make finding time to even speak with Lyss difficult. Besides, ten years is a long time. When the battle is over, Roan and Lyss have their own separate lives to return to, presuming they both survive the fight to come.

Harbinger
Born a three-legged crow, Rook knows he must hide what he is to protect himself from those who would take advantage. Living as a normal crow is difficult as they're seen as bad luck and harbingers of doom. Ostracized, Rook grows up happily despite the enmity of everyone around him. Still, when he grows up, he heads off to the city where he can live a life of anonymity.
Until Mother calls him back home and Rook returns to find doom has arrived without him, and he might be the only thing standing between his town and utter destruction.

Vivary Tales
The Vivarium is what the people call the local guardhouse. The foot soldiers who comb the streets, searching for clues and arresting culprits are known as The Dogs and their leader called The Wolf. The spies hunting the dark alleys, digging out secrets and looking for bad guys are the secretive Cats, of whom not much is known.
The silent black panther, the elusive lynx, the friendly jackal, and the powerful wolf are a few who work at the low-city Vivarium, solving crime and helping the people, and perhaps even saving themselves in the process.

The Chef
Char is a level one chef, capable of imbuing magic into his cooking. Offered a job in a new city where he can further develop his skills and grow toward his goal of one day owning his own restaurant, Char undertakes the dangerous journey through the mountain pass. However, deadly beasts, thieves, and dodgy ingredients aren't the only challenges in the mountains. When the mercenary group he travels with is killed, Char wows their killers with his skills and joins them instead.
Figuring out how to cook over a campfire with only salted and dried ingredients is a unique challenge for Char, but the fighters promised to deliver Char safely to his new job once their own task in the mountains was complete. Except, the new fighters aren't everything they appear, especially Captain Fen, who makes Char think about something other than cooking for the first time in years. Surviving the mountain was supposed to be tough, but surviving this new journey might just prove impossible.

After a serious injury makes it impossible for Ike to play soccer any more, depression begins to set in. He can't play the game he loves, but he also can barely walk and can't take care of himself. Ike spends his days wallowing in misery until his new in-home nurse shows up and it's the man that hurt Ike in the first place. Now Ike has a purpose in life to make Thatcher pay, except as Thatcher worms his way into Ike's life, Ike quickly realizes his injury might be the least of their worries.

Shaw is a newly minted detective eager to begin work in the supernatural division of the local police department, except the spirit guide he bonded with is too scary. No one wants to be his partner, and without a partner he can't work cases.
An unsolvable case of missing children has been haunting the division. Shaw is sent to retrieve a detective on sabbatical who might be able to help. Aspen is wealthy, eccentric, and quite possibly crazy, and he's Shaw's new partner. Shaw doesn't know if they'll solve the case, but he's fairly certain he won't survive working with Aspen. Because Shadow Shaw might be scary, but he's nothing in comparison to Aspen Miles.

Kay is aware of what he is: a dangerous creature tasked with keeping the city safe and running smoothly. He's damned good at his job and he's proud of that fact even though he knows its mostly thanks to his genetic modifications. Then a thief starts disrupting the city and Kay has to stop him before the delicate balance of power falls apart.
Figuring out just who and what the thief might be starts to consume Kay. Little things like keeping the city safe don't seem as important with such an interesting mystery to solve; except for when it turns out that one measly thief is the least of the city's worries.
